For many, separation can be one of the most complicated and challenging times of their lives.

As they navigate this transition, it often involves learning new ways to connect and communicate with each other while adjusting to a different kind of normal in co-parenting their children.

This is a major life transition, and for many, it marks the beginning of a new chapter that can feel uncertain and deeply emotional.

When children, shared routines, mutual friends, or work commitments are involved, it often means forming a new kind of relationship with your partner. Adjusting to this new version of ‘normal’ can be unsettling, and sometimes unresolved conflict lingers beneath the surface, making the transition even harder.

As a Counsellor, I offer a safe space where both partners can speak openly about their concerns, emotions, and fears around separation. It’s a non-judgemental environment where we work together to bring more understanding and harmony into your relationship and family life. I know this is a vulnerable and complex time, and I’m here to support you with compassion, respect and provide effective strategies to guide you through the changes.

What does separation counselling look like for parents of children?

In our sessions, I work closely with both parents, creating a space where each person feels heard and respected. As we move through the process together, parents begin to manage their emotions more effectively and cope with the stress that comes with change. This helps them shift their focus to what matters most which is the wellbeing of their children. With time and support, they’re able to work towards a more harmonious and peaceful outcome for themselves, their children, and their family.
